Goods Lifts

A goods lift is a lift installed in a building which regularly has the need to move items between floors in order to conduct business. A good example would be a pub having to move stock to a below ground storage area from a goods lorry. This task could be extremely difficult for staff without the aid of a goods lift or platform lift – accidents are likely to occur if heavy stock is carried down a narrow staircase for example.

Many businesses require goods to be carried from floor to floor, and this can be difficult and time consuming for staff. Time and money can be saved with the installation of a goods lift, as well as ensuring the safety of staff and preventing damage to goods. Another example of a situation which would benefit from the installation of a goods lift is a warehouse or supermarket. There is a constant requirement for stock to be taken to and from storage rooms; a process that can be difficult without goods lifts. Warehouses need to have quick and easy access to stock with as little trouble as possible, to fill orders or check inventory. Similarly, supermarkets are constantly replenishing stock and this can take some time if employees are required to carry items one by one between floors.
